Sheridan:        “All right. I’ll tell Security to let you through.
Delenn:        “Thank you. Don’t look away Captain. All life is transitory. A dream. We all come together in the same place at the end of time. If I don’t see you here I will see you    in a little while in the place where no shadows fall.”
Sheridan:        “Delenn? When I do see you again.....call me John?”

Delenn:          “Faith manages.”

Divided Loyalties:

Delenn:        “Are you all right?”
Sheridan       “Yah, I’m fine. No actually I’m not fine. This has been one hell of a day Ambassador.”
Delenn:        “Do you wish to talk about it?”
Sheridan:    “No....Why is it every time you finally get things calmed down and everything is going great, life decides to....kick you in the butt.”
Delenn:        “But what?”
Sheridan:    “What?”
Delenn:        “ You said that life decides to kick you, but...”
Sheridan:    “No, no it’s uhm...it’s, it’s a part of the body. It’s ...uhm...oh you have the damnedest gaps in your vocabulary.”
Delenn:        “Well in preparing to come here I was not taught the more colorful aspects of your    language. It was considered inappropriate for one of the religious cast.”
Sheridan:    “Well you’re missing out on a lot.”
Delenn:        “So I gathered. But...but? I but...you but. He or she buts.”
Sheridan:    “No, no its....”
Delenn:        “But...but? But...but.”
Sheridan:    “You sound like a motor boat.”
Delenn:        “Motorbut. I do not think I like the sound of that.”
Sheridan:    “Well I don’t blame you. I’m against the whole idea.”
Delenn:        “Then we are in agreement?”
Sheridan:    “Absofragginlutely.”
Delenn:        “There you see.”
Sheridan:    “What?”
Delenn:        “Something has gone your way today. That’s the way the universe works. Wait just a little while and the wheel turns.”
Sheridan:    “Thank you.”

The Long Twilight Struggle:

Delenn: “Captain, John you see what is happening all around us. The Great War is nearly upon us. Now that the Narn-Centauri conflict is finished the next wave will come soon and more deadly. There must be one fortress of light to stand against the darkness. That place is this place. It must be protected at any cost. Til now the Rangers assigned to this area have been under my direct command. I now transfer equal authority to you and like them I will stand by you in the days ahead.”

Sheridan: “Well I don’t know quite what to say. For the last year things haven’t exactly been going our way. I started to wonder if it would ever get better. I think it just did. Tell the other Rangers, the Ambassadors, everyone in this Army of Light that Babylon 5 stands with you. Tell them. Tell them that from this place we will deliver notice to the parliaments of conquerors that a line has been drawn against the darkness and we will hold that line...no matter the cost.”

Comes The Inquisitor:

Delenn:        “I know it’s asking much of you, Captain.”
Sheridan:    “Delenn, asking is not a problem. No for you.”

Delenn:        “Enough! Your quarrel is with me! You were sent to investigate me! Let him go. If you want to take someone, take me.”
Sebastian:    “Well, well a mutual admiration and sacrificial society. And what is he to you?”
Delenn:        “None of your concern.”
Sheridan:    “Don’t listen to him Delenn. Just get the hell out of here now. Go on!”
Sebastian:    “One single move, a gesture and his life is snuffed out, or yours. You would trade your life for his? I thought you had a destiny? Is that destiny not worth one life?”
Delenn:        “If I fall another will take my place, and another, and another.”
Sebastian:    “But your great cause?”
Delenn:        “This is my cause! Life! One life or a billion it is all the same!”
Sebastian:    “The you make the sacrifice willingly?”
Delenn:        “Yes.”
Sebastian:    “No fame, no armies or banners or cities to celebrate your name. You will die alone and unremarked and forgotten.”
Delenn:        “This body is only a shell. You cannot touch me. You cannot harm me. I am not afraid.”

Delenn:            “Why not? Only one human Captain has ever survived battle with the Minbari     fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives be somewhere else!”

Ceremonies Of Light And Dark:

Sheridan: “Hello Delenn. You know I was thinking, if you couldn’t come to the rebirth ceremony then the ceremony should come to you. I’ve given up something that really mattered to me. My uniform and everything that goes with it. What I’ve never told anyone before now. When you were hurt, when you were in my arms. I was ready to kill that guy with my bare hands and I realized that I never told you how much I cared about you. How much you mean to me. I think it’s time you knew that. I can no longer imagine my world without you in it. I don’t know exactly when or how it happened, but I’m glad it did.”

Sic Transit Vir:

Sheridan:        “Which brings me to you.”
Delenn:        “Me?”
Sheridan:        “Yes. Every time that I have seen you lately we’ve been in the middle of a crisis, a revolution. I mean, this is the first time in months that it’s been this quiet. It’ won’t last, it never does but as long as its here. I’d like to see you tonight.”
Delenn:        “Are you not seeing me now? I would think that you see me every time we meet. Unless I have become translucent or insubstantial and nobody had thought to inform me before now.”
Sheridan:        “Then let me say I would like to see you in a different light. Candle light for instance, over dinner?”
Delenn:        “Tonight?”
Sheridan:        “Tomorrow we may be involved in another crisis, another battle. This may be the last chance we’ll get for awhile. You know back home we have an old saying... eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.”
Delenn:        “Humans can be a very depressing people.”
Sheridan:        “Only if we get turned down for dinner.”
Delenn:        “ Well we cannot have that now, can we?”

Delenn:        “I wanted to see how you are doing?”
Sheridan:        “ Ah.. I’ve had worse. I’m just sorry it interrupted our dinner.”
Delenn:        “There will be other dinners but if you keep doing this you will get killed on of these days and then there will be no more dinners.”
Sheridan:        “It was happening right under my feet. I had to do something. Besides I’m fine. Ow!”
Delenn:        “Let me.”
Sheridan:        “Delenn. Delenn, I have been dressing myself for a long time now.”
Delenn:        “Yes but your arm is hurt and why put more strain on it. I hear when it happened    that Vir was with a woman. Apparently they are to be married soon.”
Sheridan:        “So I understand. Must be the shortest courtship on record. She just got here yesterday.”
Delenn:        “Perhaps you should check the air recycling system. There may be, as you say, something in the air.”
Sheridan:        “Maybe there is at that.”
